Welcome to the iSmile's Digi-Zone!
This page was inspired by, and also is an homage to a blog I used to frequent in the late 2000s.
Unfortunately, the blog hasn't been online for a long time now, but you can check it out on the Wayback Machine.
This is a place where I intend to discuss all things Digimon, Pokémon, and other "mon's" (monster taming franchises).
And also, I intend to use it as a place to discuss my MONs V-Pet game.
BLOG POSTS:
The final movie from Season 1, named Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna featured special forms of Agumon and Gabumon. They are their final evolutions, which are only possible to be achieved by a very deep bond with their human partners. They are: Agumon - Bond of Bravery and Gabumon - Bond of Friendship respectively.
As it seems that the creators of the show have a bias towards these two characters, they are the only ones among the "original 8" from Digimon Adventure, which got these special forms.
This bias has been shown in many other instances as well, such as by only them 2 reaching Mega (level 6) forms in the Original Series from 1999; and it can even be observed in the 2020 Reboot, which gave special perfect-level (level 5) "Alterous" forms only to them two as well (among other instances).
This post will be exploring how it would look like if all 8 of the original, "generation 1" protagonist Digimon had these "kizuna/bond" forms.
As it is already known, Digimon evolutions (digivolutions) are not as simple and straight-forward as in many other monster-taming franches (e.g. Pokémon).
Digivolution is quite a complex phenomenon, which has many different types, and pretty much every single Digimon can evolve in many different directions, and also multiple different Digimon can become one.
Just observing the canonical digivolutions (such as the ones appearing in the Anime, videogames, and card games), we already have a huge number of combinations, considering that there are thousands of Digimon in existence.
One of the favourite things for the fans of the Digimon franchise is coming up with their own digivolution lines, which is something myself, as well, used to do as a kid.
Here, I will present my own digivolution lines for the Digimon of the 1st Season (Digimon Adventure).
My story with Digimon starts in 2001, when I was 6 years old, and first saw Digimon Adventure on my local TV station in my home country, Serbia.
It's a little known fact that Digimon actually came to the West before Pokémon did (even though Pokémon came out earlier in Japan).
In Europe and North America, Digimon Adventure came out in August 14, 1999 (even though the first virtual pet came in 1997), while the first Pokémon anime came in September 8, 1999 (and the first Gameboy game in 1998) - only 3 weeks difference for the anime, and a whole year for the games.
As for my country, from what I can remember, Digimon came out around 2001, while Pokémon came out about a year later.
For about a year, Digimon was a huge hit (until the Pokémon craze took over)...
